"Rhapsody", a beautiful Tartan 40 masthead sloop, is a classic Sparkman and Stephens design powered by a Yanmar 4JHE 48hp diesel (300hrs./rebuilt in 2015) with a Maxi 3-blade MaxProp feathering prop.  Sailing this vessel is easily handled with the furling genoa, double reefed main sail with lazy jacks, and all control lines leading aft to the cockpit.  It also features the centerboard design, which gives it tremendous flexibility with 4'9" draft board up and 8'5" board down.  "Rhapsody" features the B-layout, which has a cabin forward with dual access head, spacious main salon, fully equipped galley to port and chart table to starboard.  There is also a quarter berth to starboard aft and a bosun's locker to port aft.  The boat is nicely equipped with Raymarine electronics above and below decks.  "Rhapsody" has been expertly updated and maintained by a knowledgeable owner.  This vessel is ready to sail away today and should be high on your must see list!

Accommodations

The Tartan 40 has a well designed T-shaped cockpit with access aft to the water through a split stern rail with a folddown swim ladder. There is easy access to the side decks and access forward through the main companionway to the main salon.  To port is the fully equipped galley with a large bosun's locker just aft.  On the starboard side aft is the forward facing chart table with a spacious quarter berth behind it.  Moving forward you have the main salon with port and starboard settees and forward of this area is the large dual access portside head and shower, with the forward cabin just ahead.

Forward Cabin

This cabin has commfortable a v-berth with custom mattress, separate access to the head, and ample storage for extended cruising.  It features an upholstered seat, teak paneling, and teak and holly sole.

Sails and Rigging

This Tartan 40 features a painted aluminum, keel stepped mast with double spreaders and wire rope standing rigging (including baby stay).  There is a Schaefer boom vang, mid-boom Harken traveler, and lazy jacks to control raising and dropping the main.  All halyard and sail control lines lead back to the cockpit for safety and ease of use. There are genoa tracks on the side decks and additional outboard sail control tracks on the toerails.  The genoa is set on a Harken MK III roller furling system.
